Biography
Donald was born in 1851. He was the son of Thomas Potts and Emma Phillips.

Donald emigrated from England to New Zealand with his parents and two brothers Ambrose and Geoffrey, aboard the Balnaguith, arriving at Lyttelton, Christchurch on April 24, 1854.
He married Anna Sophia Ryan on 14 October 1880 in Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand.
They went on to have 5 children.
Donald passed away in 1928 at the age of 77.
