Casper Powell was probably born about 1758 in Pennsylvania where he and Anna Catherine Drumheller "Kitty" Drumheller-24 were married in Amity township, Berks County, PA in 1780.[1] Casper moved to Albemarle, Virginia (at that time designated St. Anne's Parish) and was recorded on a 1783 Virginia Tax List. Casper was also recorded as buying land in Virginia in 1783. Two years later in 1785 Casper was recorded as the "head of household" living with his wife and three sons in Albemarle, VA. [2] On April 12, 1787, Casper purchased 58 acres of land In South Garden, Albemarle, VA.[3] The Casper Powell property was adjoining the intersection of Plank Road and Cove Garden Road next to the Andrew Hart estate known as "Sunny Bank," a Monticello-styled mansion [4130 Cove Garden Rd]. Casper apparently lived on this property as a farmer in a "mud slab house" for the rest of his life with his wife, Kitty, raising their ten children. Casper harvested and sold tobacco and hemp (used for twine and rope). His farm also provided food for the family. Farm animals at his death included four cows, two heifers, ten pigs, two horses, and colt. Casper signed a petition asking the House of Delegates to establish a tobacco inspection station at Scott's ferry landing (present-day Scottsville).[4] He died intestate between Nov 13, 1820 [5] and Dec 31, 1820 [6] (date of a recorded inventory of his estate after his death).

...having my DNA tested through Ancestry.com there is a suggested common ancestor with someone identified as GDM. That common ancestor is Anna Henriette Kebler and my line descends from her daughter Anna Catherine Drumheller whereas GDM's line descends from her son William Drumheller.
I think this DNA connection (mine through Powells and the match through Drumhellers) would suggest that they were married.
