Biography

Nora Mae Powell was born July 19, 1873 and is the daughter of John Powell and Mary Arnold.[1][2][3] Nora grew up in Hampshire, West Virginia[4] along with eight siblings; Martha Jane Powell, James H Powell, John Benjamin Powell, Sarah Elizabeth Powell, Nettie A Powell, Tandy Milton Powell, Bertha A Powell and Baby Girl Powell.

Nora married Charles William Haines May 28, 1900[5][6] and they made their home in Gore, West Virginia[7][8][9][10] until his death August 31, 1956. Charley provided for his family by running his farm. Together they raised four children; Althea Blanche Haines, Lester Ray Haines,[11][12][13] Etta Wyona Haines[14][15][16][17][18] and Juanita Fern Haines.[19] Nora died June 9, 1953[20][21] and is buriend in Ebenezer Cemetery, Romney, West Virginia.[22][23]
