At the time of the 1841 Census Joseph is living with his parents and siblings in Alderton, Gloucestershire[2]
At the time of the 1851 Census Joseph is recorded as a Farm Servant at the premises of Sarah Tzard in Beckford, Gloucestershire; also recorded is a Jane Dyer, whom Joseph would later marry[3]
On 17 October 1857 Joseph married Jane Dyer in Beckford, Gloucestershire[4][5]
At the time of the 1861 Census Joseph and his wife Jane are living in Alderton, Gloucestershire with their daughter Fanny[6]
At the time of the 1871 Census Joseph and his wife Jane are living in Gretton, nr. Winchcombe, Gloucestershire with their children Fanny, Sarah Ann, George and Emma[7]
At the time of the 1881 Census Joseph and his wife Jane are living in Alderton, Gloucestershire with their children George, Emma and Charles[8]
At the time of the 1891 Census Joseph and his wife Jane are living in Alderton, Gloucestershire with their children Emma and Charles[9]
At the time of the 1901 Census Joseph and his wife Jane are living in Alderton, Gloucestershire[10]
At the time of the 1911 Census Joseph, now widowed is living in Alderton, Gloucestershire at the home of his son George and his family[11]
Joseph Powell died in 1914 in (probably Alderton), Winchcombe RD, Gloucestershire[12]
