Biography

Erasmus was born in 1855. He was the son of Elijah Powell and Caroline Bartell. Erasmus was a successful businessman partnering with his brother, Middleton, in the businesses of naval stores, turpentine and timber. He married Hulda Poston, with whom he had 8 children. When he passed away in 1903, he was buried in the Oak City Cemetery, Bainbridge, Georgia. He shares a grave marker with his wife. Find A Grave: Memorial #60327018
