  • Citation of proof of Will of William Powell, late of the town of Yates in the county of Orleans, Abram C. Green one of the executors of his will, 11 Mar 1850 - To Abner Powell residing at St. Johnsville, Montgomery Co., New York, Catherine Higbie wife of Robert Higbie of the same place, Jacob Powell, Angeline Potter wife of Leonard Potter residing in Oppenheim, Fulton Co., New York, Richard Powell residing at Hoosick Falls, Rensselaer Co., NY. - Note the 1850 census had no Angeline and Leonard Potter in Oppenheim. There was Angeline and Leonard Bauder in Oppenheim. After looking at some Bauder family, I saw that Pauter was a variation. It might sound similar to Potter. Angeline Bauder's (born 1812) death certificate from the state of New York (1889) listed Wm Powell and Charity Brower as her parents.
