From early history of Farmington - "Settlers on the west side of the River David Wentworth, Hugh Cox, Joseph Riant, Adin Briggs, and Benj. Handy settled about 1789 on the front lots on the west side of the River. Mr. Cox put up the first framed house in the upper part of the town soon after. Leaving the place soon after, the house remained unfinished for a few years, after which it was fitted up by Isaac Powers, who made the first permanent settlement on the lot now owned by Samu’l York and others."
Per Inventory (p.47), Isaac Powers came in 1787 (front lot on west side of river, nbr. 42)
