Captain Jerahmeel Powers served with Vermont Republic Militia during the American Revolution.

Jerahmeel was born in 1718. Jerahmeel Powers ... He passed away in 1805.

  • Born: 27 FEB 1717/18 (or 18 Feb 1717/8) in Littleton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts [1][2]
  • Married: Eunice Bennett on the 6th (or 9th) February 1748/49 at Groton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts [3][4]
  • Died: 17 MAY 1805 in Seneca Twp., Ontario County, New York[5][6]
  • Buried: Sand Hill Cemetery, Seneca Twp., Ontario County, New York - though some believe his body was returned to Springfield, Vermont for burial [7]

Note

He was a man of business and influence in Shirley, where he at one time lived. Served as a Lt. in the French and Indian War and later moved to Leicester, Vermont. The last few years of his life he spent with his daughter in Seneca, New York[8]
in the Vermont Militia Scouts[9]
