Biography

Carrington was born about 1796. Carrington Prater died of dropsy 25 MARCH 1872 in Washington Co., VA. or in 25 Mar 1872 in White Co., TN^[1] He did not serve in the CIVIL WAR...it was his grandson James Carrington Prater of Tennessee.

^[2] Carrington was a hard-working Prater-farmer trying to provide for his family. He was pro-Union, pledged support to Union Army during the Civil War. His dad, our gg and ggg grandfather Joseph W. Prater was a Union soldier.

His brother, our ggg and gg uncle William fought for the confederacy and suffered wounds to the head. He survived. You can see our family suffered mightily during the war. I am most proud of our forefathers.
