Notes

John was one of 7 men that built (founded) the Moore Chapel Church at Jefferson Twp., Adams Co., Ohio. It was the first M.E. Church west of the Allegheny Mtns. The first church was constructed of logs and 3 other churches have been built on the same site.
John came west with Prather cousins and other allied families that were married into the family. One such person was Col. Daniel Collier, who was married to one of his cousins, Elizabeth Prather.
