Hiram Pratt married Rachel Allen, daughter of John and Phoebe Allen on 25 Feb 1795.[1][2] Rachel's brother, Prince Allen, married Hiram's sister Ruth Pratt. Seaver also mentions that Hiram was a captain in the War of 1812 and the couple had 11 children, 10 of which can be verified by Hiram's will in 1814.
Hiram's genealogy can be found in the book "John Allen and Phoebe Deuel of Cambridge and Moscow, New York".[3]
Hiram's date of death comes from his widow's War of 1812 pension application.[4] What's interesting about this, is Hiram's will is also dated 13 Jul 1814 so he died on the same day he signed his will.
It is also worth mentioning that Rachel's War of 1812 pension application mentions a family Bible which her son was using as proof of Rachel's marriage date in 1871. This would place the Bible in Chautauqua County and also would help explain why Charles North in his book, "John Allen and Phoebe Deuel of Cambridge and Moscow, New York" had such detailed information on this family. It appears the author may have received the information on Hiram's family from a family member who was in possession of the family Bible.
