Most of what we know about Darius Pratt comes from the book written by Kenneth Charles Pratt.[1] The author details the story that Darius lived in a double cabin with his brother John Pratt occupying the adjoining cabin. Ken Pratt further states that Darius was the father of twelve children.
1820 finds Darius listed in the Williamson, New York list. His household has 10 apparent children which matches nicely to the Ken Pratt book (two children are born in 1823). I have been unable to locate a free source for this census, it appearing that FamilySearch does not have the 1820 Federal Census available for Wayne County, New York.
The 1830 Federal Census for Marion, New York seems to support the double cabin as Darius and his brother John Pratt are enumerated next to each other.[2]
Sometime after 1830, Darius relocates to Portage County, Ohio where he can be found in the 1840 Federal Census.[3]
Darius dies on 14 Mar 1842 at Portage County, Ohio.[4] Findagrave also has a photo of his tombstone.
Imported only 1778 from Birth Date and marked as uncertain.
