Y-chromosome DNA test-takers in his direct paternal line on WikiTree:
Pratt-5294 and Pratt-4493 appear to represent the same person because: John Pratt b. 1661 m. Susanna Goodwin by at least 1689 per her mother's will naming her Susanna Pratt and mentioning John Pratt Jr. b. 1687. John Pratt Jr. married Hannah Norton and not Susanna Goodwin. John Pratt b. 1661 could have married first Hannah Sanford of Robert 1 before Susanna as there was a baptism in Hartford of a John son to John born in 1683. Hannah Sanford d. of Robert Sr., was unmarried per her mother Ann Sanford's will in 1682 making her a good prospect for marriage in 1683 to John Pratt b. 1661. After Susanna's death in 1712-1718, he could have also married Hannah Sanford d. of Robert 2, but had no other children born after 1703 per his 1744 will.
Pratt-5294 and Pratt-4493 are not ready to be merged because: It seems to me that there is a lot of confusion about the various John Pratts. More research is needed.
John Pratt Sr. b. 1661 married Susanna Goodwin b. 1660, of Hartford, and his son John Pratt Jr. b. 1687, married Hannah Norton of Farmington.
After Susanna Goodwin Pratt died in about 1712 (also seen 1718 as a death date), John Pratt Sr., could have married Hannah Sanford daughter of Robert Sandford Sr. (Mary his wife in her will named a daughter Hannah unmarried in 1682) or maybe Hannah Sanford Jr (b. 1690ish), but John Pratt Sr. had no other kids (per the will), so the older Hannah sounds more likely. John Pratt Sr. does not name a wife in his 1744 will. Nathaniel Goodwin (Susanna's brother) was the administrator on the estate of John Pratt Sr.
John Pratt Sr., in his 1744 will, gave his granddaughter Susannah Talcott a chest with the engraving W G S which could stand for William & Susanna Goodwin, parents of Susannah Goodwin Pratt, his first wife and mother of his children.
Susanna's mother, in her 1689 will, calls her daughter Susanna Pratt and also names John Pratt Jr. (b. 1687).
The First Church of Hartford records do show a John Pratt being born/baptized in 1683, so this could be the son of a possible first wife Hannah Sanford or? (and then both mother and son they were deceased in 1683-1686) and he remarried Susanna Goodwin.
