David married Agnes Hoffmann, daughter of Heinrich and Anna Elisabetha Hoffmann of Offenbach, on June 27, 1713.
Translated from the original marriage register in Offenbach it states: "27 June 1713 was performed by the minister - "was married before me David Preisch and Agnes Hoffmann and they were both Catholic."
Of note, Agnes Hoffmann was christened on August 25, 1686.
David and Agnes had 6 children. Their names were:
1. Anna Margaretha Preisch, Sept. 21, 1713 (Agnes was apparently pregnant with Anna when she and David were married).
2. Daniel Preisch, July 14, 1715 and died February 14, 1722 (note, this is the FIRST Daniel and these are his dates of birth and death. Several websites have this one confused with his younger brother below and have the dates SO very wrong).
3. Johan Michael Preisch, October 9, 1718.
4. Augustine Preisch, May 31, 1722 (there is NO William in his name. It is just Augustine. NOT William Augustine, just... Augustine).
5. Daniel Preisch (named after the deceased Daniel as per German custom), April 10, 1724.
6. Henricus (Henry) Preisch, Sept 8, 1726 (Henry's name was Henricus in the church register or the German, Heinrich, but there is NO JOHN or JOHAN before his name).
David and Agnes were married for 22 years. He died on July 11, 1735.
Everything above is documented in the Offenbach church register
David Preisch[1]was born before 10 Oct 1688, on which day he was Christened in Offenbach, Laudau, Rhineland Pfalz, Germany. He married Agnes Hoffman on 27 June 1712/13 in Offenbach, Landau, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany[2] He passed from his life 11 Jul 1735 in Offenbach, Landau, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany
A recent interest by fellow family members in this branch has urged me to do further research into this ancestor. Here is what I have found thus far. RC
David Preisch is found on the Christening Record of one Augustinus Preisch as shown here[3] (all blank fields have been removed) -
David also appears in the Christening record of Daniel Preisch[4] -
He passed away in 1735.
translated German films at the Genealogical Society of Utah in Salt Lake City: films of pages from the Baptismal Register and the Family Register of the Catholic Church at Offenbach from original Latin. The book from which the open letter was taken is in the Virginia Room of the main Roanoke City Public Library.
The Price Family Historical Society was formed in 2006 by founding members: Jimmie L. Price, Suzanne P. Jones, James Price and Edith P. Sloop. The Society’s mission is to identify, research, record, and preserve for future generations the Price Family history, beginning in Germany, and centering in Montgomery County, Virginia. We are the descendants of David and Agnes Hoffman Price of Offenbach, Germany. Our immigrating ancestors were Anna Margaretha Price Harless and husband Phillip, John Michael Price, Augustine Price, Daniel Price, and John Henry Price. This First Family of immigrants from The Rhine Palatinate arrived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on September 5, 1738, aboard the ship Winter Galley. Those Palatines have literally thousands of descendants across the United States. The Price Family Historical Society is resolved to honor those founding pioneers, while promoting local history, knowledge and tourism in western Virginia and Montgomery County. ?Price immigrants Augustine and Daniel Price, brothers, made their homes in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley beginning in 1755. The Price descendants within The New River Valley are the descendants of oldest brother Michael Price and youngest brother John Henry Price; both of Price’s Fork[s]. (The earlier renditions of the village name were in the plural. Aerial maps of today show the multi-fork concept of that settlement.) The descendants of Immigrant John Henry Price at “The Forks” have likewise been standard bearers of Price oral history. Those Prices born between 1930 and 1950 are now the guardians of Price History. Johannes Philip Preisch (1718-1802) and his brother-in-law, Johan Philip Harless (1716-1772), with their wives and families, immigrated in 1738 from Germany to Philadelphia. Johannes Philip anglicized his name to John Philip Price, and settled in Montgomery County, Pennsyl- vania; his brother in law first lived in Augusta County, Virginia, moving later to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Descendants and relatives lived in Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Texas, Arizona, California and elsewhere. Includes ancestors in Germany to about 1644.
