I remember my great-grandfather, Crockett Harrison Presley, fairly well from the year I spent living with my Shrader grandparents in Squire, WV. I was present when he was "laid out" in his home in Abb's Valley in December 1958. I remember distinctly the hubbub when it was discovered that the pressure created by his head on the pillow formed the image of an angel. That was considered a sure sign that he would be received in Heaven, and there was great joy in the house as a result. It was apparently an old custom that survived into modern times.
