Elizabeth Baty
A memorial Mass will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Cottage Grove for Elizabeth F. "Betty" Baty of Cottage Grove, who died Dec. 26 of age-related causes. She was 89.
She was born Sept. 1, 1920, in San Francisco, to Perry Alton and Elise M. Krimphoff Preston. She married Byron Ordell Baty Feb. 14, 1940, in San Francisco. He died Oct. 27, 1995.
She attended Catholic schools in San Francisco, then attended community college and San Francisco State University.
She worked as a court clerk for the Superior Court in Van Nuys Calif., until her retirement in 1970, then as a legal secretary in Novato, Calif., until 1982.
Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Nord of Cottage Grove; two sons, Byron F. Baty of Sitka, Alaska and Joseph W. Baty of Valencia, Calif.; and eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Arrangements by Flintofff's Issaquah Funeral Home in Issaquah, Wash. Remembrances to the American Kidney Fund or the American Heart Association.
