Biography

Letitia was the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Patton) Preston. She married Col. Robert Breckenridge in July 1758. Letitia was Robert's second wife. Robert and his first wife had two sons. Letitia and Robert had 4 sons and one daughter:

  • William, m. Miss Gilham
  • John B., m. Mary Hopkins Cabell
  • James, m. Ann Selden
  • Elizabeth, m. Samuel Meredith
  • Preston, m. Miss Trigg

Research Notes

"He and Letitia had four sons and two daughters. John was twelve and James only nine when their father died in 1772."
