No birth record for James Preston has been found. He was likely born around 1673 on his father's plantation in Calvert County called Preston's Chance. James Preston was identified as a planter of Baltimore County in 1715 when he purchased 100 acres part of Denises Choice in the Bush River area of the county. [1] Apparently, James was also a barber as well as a planter because he was fined for refusing to repair his roads, but was identified as a barber.[2]

Preston-2762 and Preston-250 appear to represent the same person because: This is the same man, the oldest paternal ancestor in this chain in need of a merge. It was wrongly rejected on import. The will in the match mentions the same children. No tree conflicts. Keep marriage married about 1709 in Baltimore, MD. Thanks!
Preston-852 and Preston-250 appear to represent the same person because: This is the same ancestor. The 1675 birth is more rational and agrees with sources. Thanks!
