Baptism: Hughes River, Ritchie Co., West Virginia. Note: Ritchie County, West Virginia History and Genealogy (Facebook) blog post by Charlie Marshall relating to the North Fork Baptist Church History (posted 12252010): 3 This is from the church history. Several years ago there was no church in this area. Mrs. Permelia (Jackson) Pribble was converted. She was a strong believer of only one baptism and for that reason she wanted to join the Baptist Church. She rode horseback and carried her baby all the way to Buchannon, WV. She was baptised there and joined the Baptist Church. In later years her husband, Hugh Pribble Sr. was converted . Being ill at the time he was carried to the river on a chair and baptised. There was no church building in the area so meetings were held in the schoolhouse at Rusk, WV. (about 1873). Later they came to an old log schoolhouse on Gillispie Run, as it was more the center of the community and worship services were held there till a church could be built.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Hugh by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Hugh:
