John Price married Mary Randolph, daughter of William Randolph II.
John was born before 1714. Information regarding the residence at Cool Water indicates the home was constructed by John Price in 1740. This leads one to believe John Price was at least 21 years of age at that time. [1]
Caption below historical photo of Coolwater: "located in the western part of Hanover County, was erected circa 1740 by John Price, who emigrated from Wales shortly before 1734. He was employed as a builder by William Randolph of Turkey Island. Prior to 1742, he married Randolph's daughter Mary. Mary's sister Elizabeth, Wife of John Chiswell lived at Scotchtown, four milies distant. John and Mary's son Thomas, inherited the 1500 acre estate..." [2]
Cool Water the first home of the Prices was next to Scotchtown, the home of Elizabeth Chiswell (Sister of Mary and wife of John Chiswell)...we have been told that there was a vista four miles long between the homes of the sisters. We are also told that both parents (John and Mary) died while the sons were young and they were reared by Mrs. Chiswell, Thomas being the ward of his brother-in-law Captain George Dabney. [3]

Estate known as Coolwater in Hanover County and built by John Price about 1740 and willed to his son Captain Thomas Randolph Price [5]
The two men named John Price who died in Cumberland County are not John Price married to Mary Randolph. The information for their children and heirs does not match. If the son, Thomas Randolph Price, inherited the estate known as Coolwater, then it would appear that this was the location of this John Price when he died. Title: U.S. and International Marriage Records, 1560-1900
It has not been proven that the John Price married to Hannah Williamson was the father of John Price of Coolwater. The John Price in the will below may or may not be the correct person. Notation added by wikitree suggested Mary Williamson was not old enough to give birth to a son born in 1714, the date often given as his birth.
The will attached below does not match with the children of John Price and Hannah Williamson found in deed records of Goochland County. This will was executed too early to be the correct family. It has been said John Price and Hannah Williamson died intestate.
