Thomas Clingman Price was born on November 6, 1852 in Duncan’s Creek, Rutherford County, North Carolina. His father Mijamin J. Price was 30 and his mother, Louisa McFarland, was 24.
In about 1867 T.C. Price’s parents, five brothers and one sister left North Carolina and moved to Tennessee, where his youngest brother Francis Marion was born in 1869. They were all enumerated in the 1870 U.S. Census at Clear Branch in the 18th District of Washington County, Tennessee on 30 August 1870. W.S. McFarland, Male, age 17, born in South Carolina, is also listed as a member of the household.
T.C. Price was a builder and carpenter by trade, however, while in Tennessee he went to Cumberland College in Bethany, Tennessee where he studied Law from 1871-1872.
On 15 January 1880, he married Alice Caledonia Wilson Newman, a widow with two young daughters, in Giles, Tennessee. This was a first marriage for T.C. Price. The young family was enumerated for the first time in District 9, Giles, Tennessee, on 7 June 1880. T.C 27, Alice 26, Minnie Belle, 6, and Thomas Daisy. 4. It is presumed, though not documented that the T.C. Price family along with Mijamin and Louisa Price and their family, and the William Franklin Wilson family left for Texas in the Spring of 1881.
Besides Alice’s two daughters, T.C. and Alice Price had five children: Martha Louisa Price 1882-1970; Edward Randolph Price 1884-1970; Amy Virginia Price 1886-1976; Roy Cooper Price 1888-1966; Everette Wilson Price 1892-1957.
Thomas Clingman Price passed away in Pilot Point, Denton County, Texas on March 23, 1933 and is buried in the Pilot Point Masonic Cemetery.
