Biography

Elizabeth was born about 1798. Elizabeth Price ... She passed away about 1825. [1]

Nancy Elizabeth Price was born in Rutherford County, NC, probably in the Green Hill community. Her parents were William Dudley Price and Elizabeth M. Hampton. Her maternal grandfather was Col. Andrew Hampton, a stout patriot and a distant cousin to Wade Hampton of South Carolina. Her grandfather paternal grandfather Capt. Thomas Price was killed in action against the British and Tories during the siege of Augusta, Ga. in summer of 1781. Her father, William Price also gave 4 years of Revolutionary War Service as supported by documents in his pension file. Elizabeth's daughter, Catherine Bowman Weatherfield gave testimony in support of her grandmother's claim for a widow's pension. Her paternal grandfather, William Bowman, also served during the Revolution, possibly being at the Battle of the Cowpens.
