Thomas was born about 1745 in Hanover County, Virginia Colony. He served in the American Revolution as well as his brother Richard Priddy, both joining the service while living in Hanover County. Thomas paid taxes March 1782 on 149 acres of land in Hanover County adjoining Capt. Ambrose Lipscomb, Henry Priddy, and John Grimes.[1] Thomas Priddy's land was not only adjoining Capt. Lipscomb, Henry Priddy, and John Grimes, but also Jacob Hundley and Alexander King.[2]

Thomas Priddy paid taxes 1783 in St. Paul's Parish, Hanover, Virginia for owning 149 acres, Henry Priddy was taxed for 200 acres, John Priddy for 151 acres, and John Priddy Junr 183 acres, Samuel Priddy, twice taxes, 100 acres.[3]

Thomas Priddy married Mary Snead, daughter of John Sneed, Sr. of Hanover County, prior to their migration to Halifax County, Virginia. Thomas owned Hanover land adjoining his brother Henry Priddy which Thomas deeded this land prior to migration to Halifax County to Henry along with James Priddy. John Priddy, Sr. and John Priddy, Jr., also lived on this same creek. Likely John Sr. and James Priddy were other brothers. This is proved by the deed of William England Junr., land left him by his father, Edward England, selling to John Priddy, Junr. dated 1 April 1790, buying property on north side of Lickenhole (sic: Lickinghole) Creek, and adjoining the said creek bounded by Henry Priddy, Gideon Ragland, John Priddy, Senr., Nathaniel Glenn, at the mouth of Lickinghole Creek. Witnesses were John Priddy, Lewis Thomas, and Jacob Christian.[4] Prior to leaving Hanover County, Thomas deeded to James Priddy 138 acres and deeded to Henry Priddy 10 acres of land, the mouth of Lickinghole Creek, 1784-5.[5][6]

Lickinghole Creek, Hanover, Virginia, was the location where Robert & George Priddy 1750s-1771 were living per the Hanover County processioning records. Lickinghole Creek headwaters are at Ashland in Hanover, but the mouth of Lickinghole where the sons of George Priddy lived was at the Chickahominy River and the Henrico County line.[7]

Per Halifax, Virginia, written will of Thomas Priddy and wife Mary Snead Priddy they had ten children: Bannister Priddy, Park Priddy, John Priddy, Burk Priddy, Judith Priddy, Alsey Priddy, Mary (Polly) Priddy, Jenney Priddy, Kitty Priddy, and William Priddy. He passed away by 26 Oct 1812, Halifax, Virginia, when his will was probated in Halifax County Court by his widow, Mary Snead Priddy.
