The Lawrence Democrat, 5 Nov 1913
Mr. Isaac Prince, aged 105 years, departed this life October 19, 1913. We are sad indeed to give up such a good friend and neighbor from this world, for we realize there are few like him, but our loss is his eternal gain.
He had been feeble in health for several years but bore his suffering with Christian fortitude and was patient, loving and kind to all who ministered to him during his illness. A faithful loving father, a noble and worthy neighbor from us has gone and we sadly miss him as we journey here below but we'll meet him, gladly meet him, when to glory we shall go.
Often did he say everyone ought to be prepared for death for it is sure and life is uncertain. He has called his children to his bedside and asked them to promise him to always be good. Oh! may they ever keep that promise and strive to meet him in glory when there is no more pain and parting.
He had been a faithful member of the Christian church for over fifty years. He leaves four sons and four daughters and a host of grandchildren to mourn their loss. His remains were laid to rest at the West Point Cemetery. May Gods richest blessing rest on the bereaved family.
Written by his granddaughter, Fannie Pugh.
