"Job was a wealthy ship master of Boston. In 1748, he married Elizabeth Allen, the great-grandaughter of Rev. James Allen, Pastor of the first Church in Boston, from 1668 to 1710. The Prince mansion was on Chamber St. between North and South Allen St., the land extending to the water. Mass. Gen. Hospital stands in what was “Prince’s pasture.” This property was formerly owned by Rev. Mr. Allen, supposed to be the richest man in Boston. This Job Prince’s children were: Hezekiah, Job, Elizabeth, Thomas, Sarah, James, Samuel and Abigal. Ex-Mayor Frederick O. Prince is a grandson of both Thomas and James Prince. His grandfather James was U. S. Marshall for many years, one of Boston’s most prominent citizens. Job Prince, the son of Job and Elizabeth, and grandson of Job and Abigal, was also a wealthy ship-master; he commended the famous ship “Massachusetts,’ built at Germantown (Quincy), in 1789, the largest merchant ship then in America. He lived in the homestead on Chambers St.; died at Amsterdam in 1790. John Tucker Prince of Boston has in manuscript, a full and most valuable record of the descendants of Capt. Job Prince and wife, Elizabeth Allen, of Boston, as well as other branches of the Genealogical tree." [15]
Capt Job Prince died in Boston in February 1790[16], and his estate was administered in 1792[4]
