Biography

Mary was born on 2 December 1685 in Hull, Suffolk, Massachusetts Bay Colony to parents Isaac Prince and Mary (Turner) Prince.[1][2]

She married Joseph Gould on 18 December 1713 in Hull.[3][2]

She died on 7 Feb 1769/70 in Hull, Suffolk, Province of Massachusetts Bay. Her husband Joseph had died shortly before on 21 December 1769. [4]

In Hull, "Mary, w. of Joseph, Feb. 7, 176- (1769-70, t.c)." T.C. indicating from a town copy.[4]

Is this the right date? Her husband wrote his will 23 Sept 1769, before the alleged date of her death, but left her nothing and did not mention her name.[5][2]

Research Notes

Note the Mayflower Society has accepted descendants of Mary through this marriage, but notes that an unidentified Mary Prince married at Boston 28 April 1705 Reginald Odell and apparently died soon without issue.
