Biography

Ann Prichard / Pritchard was born about 1614 in Eglwysilan, Glamorganshire, Wales. She was married to Ralph Lewis. She died in Pennsylvania, British Colonial America.

Research Notes

Richard ap Ieuan and his wife, Catherine Basset, had a daughter named Anne, according to Douglas Richardson, who does not provide further details.[1] Marlyn Lewis's database names her Ann Prichard, wife of Ralph Lewis, citing Ancestry submissions by "tbrissette66" and "JaniceGove".[2]

This is by no means definitive, but I found some interesting research done on the subject of Ralph Lewis' true parentage.

update - detached this profile from Richard ap Ieuan & Catherine Bassett

I've added a Research Notes section prior to detaching this Ann as the daughter of Richard ap Ieuan & Catherine Bassett named in Richardson's works (I cited Royal Ancestry, as the most current; no additional information is in Magna Carta Ancestry either).

If you have something to connect the Ann Prichard who married Ralph Lewis to them, please post your info as a comment or in the profile.

Thanks!

In addition to both Anns and William, there is also a record of a David Lewis (https://www.ancestry.com/genealogy/records/david-lewis-24-47k8qlr) dying on the same day. Either a bad day for the Lewis family or a record mix up.

I just proposed a merge of two profiles both referring to Ann Pritchard Lewis, wife of Ralph Lewis. Please ignore remark about her death date, as the date given is that of her daughter-in-law: Ann's death date is unknown.
Pritchard-1142 and Pritchard-3286 appear to represent the same person because: Same person. If the correct death date is 9 February (being that the Original deateh record probably reads 9th day of the 12th month, and at that time February was the 12th month) then the year would be 1709, not 1708. Thus, 9 Feb 1709.

Prichard-113 and Pritchard-1142 appear to represent the same person because: When merging, make certain she does not remain attached as a wife of William Lewis, who was her son.

Pritchard-1426 and Prichard-113 appear to represent the same person because: These two profiles definitely represent the same person: the surname is probably best spelt PRICHARD. The death date - 9 Feb 1708 (New Style) - shown at Pritchard-1426 is actually the death date of son William Lewis, whose wife Ann Evans died on 15 Feb 1708 (New Style). Thus in the merged profile there should be no death date, as it is unknown.
