Biography

James Pugh was born about 24 Nov 1823 in Gilead Township, Morrow, Ohio, United States, son of Jesse Pugh (1801–1831) and Rebecca Severe (1800–1883).^{[1] [2] [3] [4] [5]}

James had a brother, Jackson Pugh (1830– ).

In 1850, James was living in Sherman, Huron, Ohio. ^[6]

He, in 1860, was living with his mother and Jackson, his brother. The family home was in Alpine, Kent, Michigan.^[7]

James (37) married Sarah Francis Thompson (20) (born on 28 Jan 1841 in Kentucky, United States) on 4 Jul 1861 in Kent.^[8] Their known children were:
