Sarah (Pulley) Harkins was born in Appalachia, in Georgia.
Sarah was born in Georgia in 1866 to William Pullen and Amanda Jane Pullen.
In the 1880 census Sarah (age 13) was the grandchild of Joseph Pulliam in Coosawattee, Gordon, Georgia, United States where her mother also resided.[1]
John and Sarah lived between Murray and Gilmer counties until 1900.[3][4] There are family stories about a poker game or a stolen horse but John left Georgia in a hurry for Arkansas. [5] Sarah stayed behind and sold the property in Georgia then moved to Arkansas.[6][7] It was in the 1920's when the family moved to Oklahoma.[8]
Sarah died in 1938 in Bernice, Oklahoma [9] and was buried in the Grand Army of the Republic Cemetery, Miami, Ottawa County, Oklahoma, USA,( GPS (lat/lon):, 36.90815, -94.88042) [10]
