Page 2. “We cut the following from the Glasgow (KY) Gazette of the 27th ult.: Marriage Extraordinary. : Never too late to do good.” By the Rev. James James Brooks on Friday evening, the 9th inst., Mr Barnabas Pulliam, aged 80 years, to Miss Myra Clack, aged 50 years, daughter of John Clack, of this county. When the worthy couple came out on the floor, Barney says to the parson, “where is the right place to stand, Jim?” “ Just there, uncle Barney”. “Am I right now, Jim?” “ I reckon; but you hav’nt given me your license yet.” “Oh,” says Barney, turning round to Myra, “where are they honey?” “In your hat uncle Barney.” He ran and got it, and says, “Here, Jim here they are. Well I reckon I am right now. Get out of the way Rube*, and let John+ see.” *Rube, the boy who held the candle +The father in law who was opposed to the marriage.
