Biography

Charles was born about December 1849, in New York City. He was the son of Augustus Purdy (1820-1864) and Melinda Roe. In 1850, the family is living in New York City.[1]

On 26 October 1891, Charles married Elizabeth Cleveland (Phillips) Purdy (1870-1939) in Holy Trinity Church in Brooklyn, New York.[2]

In 1910, the family is living in Brookline, Massachusetts. Charles and Elizabeth have been married 19 years, and had three sons, all of whom are still living. Charles is a wholesale woolen merchant.[3]

Charles, died at age 67, on 25 or 26 October 1917 in Needham, Massachusetts.[4] He is buried in the Walnut Hills Cemetery in Brookline, Norfolk County, Massachusetts,[5]
