On 26 October 1891, Charles married Elizabeth Cleveland (Phillips) Purdy (1870-1939) in Holy Trinity Church in Brooklyn, New York.[2]

Charles, died at age 67, on 25 or 26 October 1917 in Needham, Massachusetts.[4] He is buried in the Walnut Hills Cemetery in Brookline, Norfolk County, Massachusetts,[5]
