Biography
Betsey was born in 1827. She was the daughter of Isham Purdy and Roxcea Wiley. She married Claiborn Barrow in 1851 and they had seven known children, Hulda, Herbert (died in infancy), Elbert, Edwin Perkins, Charles Dennis, Ellen Bell, Edwin E, and Lucy. She and her husband were named in her brother Dennis Purdy's 1857 will. Betsey died in 1869 and is buried in the Barrow family cemetery on the Barrow farm in Jackson County, Illinois.
