James Hamilton Pyle was born on August 6, 1823 in Lawrence, Indiana, United States, son of Jacob Pile (1785–1864) and Comfort Evangeline M Williams (1788–1859).
James died on March 8, 1899 in Kansas, United States, aged 75. He is commemorated at Olathe Memorial Cemetery, Olathe, Kansas.[2]
