Biography
William H Pyne (David3 Pine, Abel2, Daniel1) was born 12 Jan 1859 in Clementsvale, Annapolis, NS,. to David Pyne and Jane Dukeshire. William H. Pyne appears in the 1871 Census living at home with his parents, David and Jane and his four siblings. [1] The 1881 Census shows him still living in the household of his parents, on the Hessian line in Clementsvale, Nova Scotia.[2] William H. Pyne was listed, age 33, farmer, in the household of his brother Samuel in the 1891 Clementsvale census. [3]
William Pyne married Caroline Amelia Curtis 01 Dec 1897 in Clementsvale, NS (Baptist Church), daughter of Charles Curtis and Margaret Nixon. She was born 24 Oct 1873 in Nictaux, Anna. Co., NS, and died 08 Aug 1941 in Clementsvale, Annapolis Co., N.S. Married 1 Dec 1897 at Clementsvale, by licence, by Rev. Stephen LANGILLE, Baptist at Clementsvale, William PYNE, aged 37, bachelor, farmer, resident of and born in Clementsvale, son of David and Jane PYNE, farmer, AND, Caroline CURTIS, aged 24, spinster, resident of Clementsvale, born in Nictaux, daughter of Charles and Priscilla CURTIS, farmer.[4]

Aged just a few days short of his 89th birthday. Mr Pyne was 88 years old, and although deaf was able to read without glasses. He died of arterio-sclerosis due to hypertension. Funeral services for the late Mr William Pyne were held in the church on February 12th, Reverend CS Young officiating. Mr Pyne was 88 years old, and although deaf was able to read without glasses. He married Miss Caroline Curtis, who predeceased him several years ago, and is survived by 2 daughters: Mrs Bertis Freeman, Lansdowne and Mrs Russell Mansfield who lived with him in the old home. Five grandchildren also survive, Roger and Stillman Freeman and Billy, Robert, and Elaine Mansfield.[7]
