Biography

Winifred Helen Pyne aka Pine was born on 24 Jan 1899 in Croxley Green, Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, England to William John Pyne/Pine and Sarah Ellen (Allum) Pyne/Pine. Her birth was registered in Watford, Hertfordshire in the first quarter of the year, with mother's maiden name Allum.^[1]

In 1901 Winifred H Pyne (age 2) lived at Dickinson Square in Rickmansworth with her father William J (31, Presspate Hand (Paper Mill)), mother Sarah E (30), brother William H T (7), and boarder John Wilson (26, Machine Oiler (Paper Mill)).^[2]

Winifred's father William John Pine passed away in 1902. Her mother was then in a relationship with Arthur Pine (Winifred's uncle) - they were living as husband and wife in 1911 but didn't officially marry until 1922.

In 1911 Winifred Helen Pine (age 12, School) lived in Uxbridge, Middlesex with her stepfather/uncle Arthur John (38, Acetylene Welder Tank Making), mother Sarah Ellen (40), and three brothers: William Henry (17, Compositor Newspaper Printing), John Frederick George (7), and Thomas James (2).^[3]
