When he was 17, he married Rita Lilian Aldrick, daughter of Milbury George Aldrick and Violet Eliza Bates, on 29 Jun 1935[3] in Gosford, New South Wales, Australia. When he was 34, he married Mavis Joan Tierney, daughter of Darcy Allen Tierney and Elsie Miriam Edwards, on 27 May 1952[4] in Wyong, New South Wales, Australia.
