"Dr. James E. Quigley, 74, former Butler, Portersville and Prospect physician, died yesterday in his home at Edinburgh, O. Dr. Quigley retired from the medical profession in 1955. Prior to his retirement, he was medical director of the Alcoholic Information Center and Clinic of Pittsburgh. He was a graduate of Bellefonte Academy, the Jefferson Medical School of Philadelphia, and interned at Johns-Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Md. He was a veteran of World War I, and was one of the first American soldiers to be taken prisoner by the Germans during that conflict. He was born in Butler County, the son of David D. and Amanda Whitmire Quigley. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Laura McQuiston of Meridian and Mrs. Olive Daugherty of Meridian, and a brother, J. J. Quigley of Edinburgh, O. QUIGLEY-Friends of Dr. James E. Quigley of Edinburgh, 0., formerly of Butler, Portersville and Prospect, who died Tuesday, May 13, 1958, will be received at the Thompson-Paul Funeral Home, E. North at McKean St., from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday from the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark B. Maharg, retired minister, officiating. Burial will be in Butler County Memorial Park. Arrangements by Thompson-Paul"
