James Quinn Sr. was born about 1825 ^[1]and was the father of Mary Quinn Murray Treis. The 1870 US Census lists laborer James born in Ireland who was married to Margaret in Aug 1869 and gives James and Margaret ages of 45 and 33, resp. Also in the 1870 Census, James and Margaret were living next door to Daniel Quinn, his wife and child. Perhaps Daniel was a son by a previous wife of James, and Daniel listed his father and mother, (in the 1880 census) as being from Limerick, Ireland. James, Margaret and family are found in Williamstown, Oswego County New York in the 1875 NY State Census where he was listed as a RR employee.^[2] They were mentioned in son James's jr's obituary in May 1937 as the late Mr and Mrs James Quinn. The Schenectady City directory for 1881 and 1883 mentions Margaret Quinn (Quin) living at 49 Hulett St as a widow. The 1892 NY State Census lists Margaret with children Satie (Sarah), James and William.
