Charles was born in 1882 in Mississippi. He was the son of John Quinn and Cynthia Nettie Terry. About 1905 Charles married Lula Bell Sanders and together they were parents of seven children. They farmed first in Oktibbeha Mississippi, then in Ferndale, Arkansas. By 1940 they were back in Oktibbeha, Mississippi where Charles passed away in 1952.
Note
There is some confusion about Charles’s middle name. Most sources list him as Charles B. Quinn. On his WWII draft registration, Charles’s son has his father listed as Charles Barksdale Quinn. It appears to have been filled out by someone else who may have heard Barksdale instead of Barkstell. On Charles’s WWI draft registration card he clearly twice hand signed his name as Charley Barkstell Quinn. I welcome any further information family might be able to provide.
