Biography

Phillip RADER was born on 1 August 1825 according to a listing of his parents' children located in a bible that is believed to have belonged to one of Phillip's nephews.[1] He was the son of Joseph Rader and Martha Rayburn. His parents were enumerated in Mason County, Virginia in 1820 and 1830 and it is believed that Phillip was also born there. Due to lack of records, Phillip's death is difficult to research, but since his last known child was born about 1852, his death is believed to occurred sometime after that child's conception and the enumeration of the 1860 census record where his wife is the head of the household.

He was married on 20 November 1845 in Jackson County, Virginia (now West Virginia) to Hulda CONRAD[2]

After his death, his widow moved to Wirt County, Virginia[3] with their two young children, Sarah C. RADER and Samuel Randolph RADER.
