Margaret was the daughter of John and Ann White Rafferty. She immigrated to Ontario from Ireland in 1879, when she would have been about 14.[1]
She married Thomas McMahon when she was about 28 years old.[2]
In 1911, Margaret and Thomas were living on their farm in Wellesley Township, Lot 9, Concession 11, with their six children.[3] (This later census lists Margaret immigration date as 1888.) Five of the children were still on the farm in 1921.[4]
Margaret died at age 72 and is buried with her husband in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Macton, Ontario.[5][6]
