Biography

Born in Des Moines, Iowa in 1958. My father died in January 1959.

The family lived in Des Moines until about 1963 when my mother moved the family south to Mercer County, Missouri to be closer to my grandparents who lived nearby.

After two older sisters relocated to central Louisiana, my mother moved to Many, Louisiana in May 1969 to be closer to her two oldest daughters.

Relocated to Natchitoches, Louisiana in early 1970.

Once again relocated back to Many in 1972. Lived in rural Sabine Parish outside of Many until December 1976. I graduated from Many High School in 1976 and enrolled in Northwestern State University in Natchitoches in the fall of 1976.

Relocated to Makar Road in Natchitoches in late 1976. Continued at NSU until graduation in May 1980 with a B.A. in Social Sciences. Started graduate school in the summer of 1980 but lack of finances forced me to seek full-time employment.

Begin working full time at Country Pride Foods, later named Con Agra Foods, in Natchitoches in December 1980.

In July 1983 my mother passed away.

I continued to live and work in Natchitoches until June 1989.

I moved to Asheboro, Nort Carolina in June 1989. I married Rebecca Jane York 24 June 1989.

I worked full time at Circuit City Regional Service Center in Greensboro, NC from August 1989 until it closed in early 2001.

In May 1993, our daughter Erin Nicole Ragan was born.

I started working at Carolina Tractor in Greensboro in September 2001. I also worked part-time at a newly opened WalMart in Randleman, NC, from 1999 until 2003.

Started working full time at Rheem Replacement Parts distribution center in Randleman in April 2005. In November 2006, I accepted a buyer position there where I continue to work to the present date.

Hi Garry,

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles!

It’s very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines laid out on that page.
