Biography

When Alvin Alden Rainford was born on 30 September 1902 in Indiana, USA, his father, Willis, was 31 and his mother, Lola, was 24. Alvin was named for his Besse grandfather's family name of Alden. In 1910, he was living with his parents and brothers, his Aunt Tura and her son Forest in Illinois. He was 7 years old when his father took him to homestead in Montana and his mother stayed with her family in South Dakota, along with his brothers Cal 5 and Clyde 4. They lived in Fergus, Montana and the homestead claim was proved 12 Jun 1920 • Fergus, Montana for the Lewistown homestead claim of 320 acres. While living at Starburst Montana, he married Sallie Elina Oja on 30 September 1925 in Shelby, Montana, USA. ^[1]She was a Finnish immigrant. They moved to California and had one child during their marriage: Clara Jean Rainford in 1929. He died on 13 April 1971 in Richmond, California, USA, at the age of 68.
