David Finis Ralston was born on September 6, 1869 in Uniontown, Kansas, United States, son of Joseph Porter Ralston (1847–1926) and Levicey Jane Ward (1848–1917).
David (20) married Susie Anderson (19) (born on October 1, 1870 in Lawrence, Douglas, Kansas) in 1890. Their children were:
