Biography

JAMES RALSTON (aka Rolston) was born about 1760. [1]

James Ralston married 1794 Lydia Crooks following the posting of a marriage bond. A marriage bond was posted 28 May 1794 in Bourbon County, Kentucky.[2]

Know all men by these presents that we James Rolston Jr. & Andrew Shanklin are held and firmly Bound unto Isaac Shelby governor of Kentucky or his successors in the full sum of 50£ to the payment to which We bind ourselves and Each of our heirs Exors adms Jointly and Severaly Firmly by these presents sealed with our seals and Dated 28th day of May 1794 The condition of the above obligation is such that Whereas Thomas Reeder clerk of Bourbon Co hath this day issued license for the marriage of the above James Rolston and Lydia Crook Now if there is no lawful cause to obstruct said marriage & no damage Accrues By means of the said license being Issued then the above obligation to be void Else Remain in full force and Value.
