The Ramsay legacy began with Willis's father-JD Ramsay- moving the family to Northern Michigan in 1875 from Kalamazoo.
Grand father Willis Ramsay must have been a very successful farmer in his own right in Grand Traverse Co Mich, He was instrumental in building the Grant ME Church and the first little School house in the area. The school building is today a lovely little well kept home on the corner of Ramsay Road (2000)...It is said that Willis had the first steam engine in the area: He also made investments in land around Grand Traverse Co to help his children start their own lives in farming.
