Biography

Ann (Ramsay) Armbrister is part of a Bahamian family.

Ann Augusta Armbrister was born about 1812 - 1813, probably in the Bahama Islands, to William Ramsey and Susanna Jemima Brown Ramsey. She was mentioned in the will of her father, along with her sister, Letitia Matilda, and her brother, William Brown Ramsay, when it was proved in April 1821.

She married James Francis Armbrister, son of James Mullins Guerineau Armbrister, 28 July 1835 in Saint Salvador/Cat Island Bahamas. "Married, at St. Salvador, on the 28th ult, by HM Williams Esquire, JP, Mr James Francis Armbrister to Ann Augusta eldest daughter of the late William Ramsey, deceased." The couple had children - among them Thaddeus Augustus Constantine, Walter Ramsay, Ellen Frances Ramsay, Letitia Eliza, Alexander, and Allan Ramsay Armbrister.

Ann Augusta Ramsey Armbrister died in the Bahamas and was buried in the Cemetery of St David's Church, Long Cay, Crooked Island, Bahamas.
