Biography
George Washington Ramsey was born about 1833 in Tennessee. He is the son of George Ramsey and Elizabeth McCamish.
In 1850 George appears to be enumerated on the federal census in Kings River Madison County, Arkansas in the home of his mother's brother William and his wife Elizabeth. [1]
By 1860 he is newly married to Mary _____. They are still living in the home of Elizabeth and Isaac Whitely, his mother and step-father. [2]
George has not been located on the 1870 federal census. In 1880, he is enumerated with wife "C.C.", sons E.W., John and Eddy and daughter Emma. [3]
George married Fredonia Rawls 13 Dec 1896. [4] In 1900 the couple are enumerated on the federal census in White County, Arkansas. [5] In 1910, George is again widowed and living with his son John. [6]
