Biography
- Patsy was a daughter of Andrew Ramsey and Mary Steele. Family records say Andrew moved his family to Shelby County, KY between 1806 and 1811.
Patsy and her husband are buried in the Finley-Wilson Cemetery in Lincoln County, MO.
Research Notes
Mary Finley, b 1767, is in the 1850 census in Lincoln County, Missouri, b 1787, with husband James and children Andrew and Sarah, each with a spouse. The marriage bond for a Polly Ramsey and James Finley has a date of 16 Jul 1813 in Augusta County, Virginia. (There is a different bond dated 2 Oct 1811 for Jas. Finley and Patsy Ramsey.) The findagrave memorial does not have a picture of a headstone and does not cite a record, so date of death needs further research. Information in published genealogies should be verified, in this case Stout (1957) vol 1 p 111. Smith-112541 18:19, 15 January 2024 (UTC)

According to page 132 of the memoir by David Erastus Finley great grandson of James Finley and Mary/Patsy Ramsey, "James E. Finley, son of John and Esther (Reid) Finley.... His marriage license issued Sept. 30, 1811, tells he was married Oct 2, 1811 by Rev. John McCue to Patsy (Mayr) Ramsey, who was born Nov. 26, 1736 and died Dec. 8, 1851. She was the daughter of Andrew and Mary Steele Ramsey, who moved from Virginia to Shelby County, Kentucky prior to 1806-11; moved from Kentucky to Lincoln Co., Mo. in 1829." This seems to confirm that Mary Ramsey and Patsy Ramsey are the same person.
