In the Name of God Amen, I JAMES RAMSEY Sen. of the County of Lincoln and State of No. Carolina being of perfect mind and memory but calling to mind the mortallity of the flesh, that it is appointed for all men to die, doth make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner following, to wit, 1st I recommend my body to the Earth to be buried in a Christian like manner and my soul to God who gave it to me, 2nd ly I gave & bequeath unto my wife Ruth Ramsey, the following Items to wit 1st I give unto her five tracts of Land one of two hundred acres and one of one hundred acres and one of fifty acres, one tract containing by estimation one hundred & thirty five poles , one tract containing by estimation two acres, the above mention tracts of land all by laying on the waters of "Cornpunch, the two hundred acres & the one hundred acre tract above mentioned was deeded to James Ramsey by Michael Shell the fifty acres above deeded to said J. Ramsey, claimed under a grant from the state bearing date January 5th, 1805 joining his two hundred acre tract on the "?" side & the two acre tract said Ramsey James under a deed from Henry Summorrow Sr dated the 7th of January 1806 Joining his Michael Shell tract on their side of the other tract of one hundred and thirty five poles, he James under a deed from John Summerow dated the 6th of March 1820 lying on the N Side of the two first mentioned tracts the Michael Shells land; 3rd I give unto my wife Ruth Ramsey one waggon one horse all my7 cattle
all my sheep all my hogs & all my farming utensils & all my house hold & kitchen furnature, beding, & clouthing of all descriptions all the avoce artacles I give unto my wife Ruth Ramsey during her natural life, & at her decd all the before mentioned tracts of land to decend to my son Solomon Ramsey I also give unto each of my Lawfull heirs the sum of five shillings to me made out of my Stock.
